10 gifts not to give your childless friends

First off, momlogic is a fantastic site! Secondly, they have this blog called “Childless Bitch” that I absolutely love.

I thought I would share this will all of you because it made me laugh..

  1. Anything in a tin. This includes your holiday fudge and ‘family’ Chex Mix recipe.
  2. Another set of lotions, bath salts or candles. I know this is shocking to you, but I don’t spend my nights taking bubble baths and listening to Michael Buble.
  3. Flannel anything. I don’t care if it’s cold in winter.
  4. Avon, Tupperware or anything else purchased at one of your “Child-Free Fun Time Nights.”
  5. A purse you would carry.
  6. Any item from your kid’s school’s fundraising catalog. A good rule of thumb: If you gave the gift to your daughter’s teacher, do not give it to me.
  7. Something dried - scratch that – anything from the community holiday craft fair. Just because a scarf is homemade does not make it cool.
  8. Jewelry on cardboard.
  9. Perfume found at Sears.
  10. A photo album or picture frame of your family — I don’t care how expensive the frame is!

Remember, it’s the thought that counts!”

The Deadline for Shipping your Baby Gifts is Getting Close.

Make sure your gift makes it out the door soon if you want it to arrive before Christmas!

The deadline for mailing presents to most parts of the country is Friday for them to arrive by Christmas. Express mail packages can be sent between Saturday and Dec. 23 and still make their destination by Dec. 25.

Private delivery companies FedEx and UPS are advising customers to get presents to them by Wednesday for regular ground delivery. A UPS employee said customers could still send packages to the East Coast and Midwest up until Friday by ground.

And the best gift of all…help!

Mothers and parents will certainly derive a lot of joy when shopping for clothes for the newborn baby. At the same time, when they receive a newborn baby gift, it too will gladden their hearts a lot. For those people who already know what parenthood is all about, selecting a newborn baby gift can prove to be an enjoyable activity and not very difficult either since you would have a good idea as to what the baby would require and like.

However, not everyone that goes out looking to buy a newborn baby gift has had the fortune of being a parent and for them, buying a suitable gift can prove to be a bit harder. For such people, it is necessary to first of all do their own research about what makes a good newborn baby gift, especially with regard to the needs of an expectant mother who would most certainly welcome being gifted with something that will help take care of the newborn.

If you are planning to buy a newborn baby gift for an expectant mother it would be a good idea to give her something that will prove to be helpful in taking care of the baby in the first month or up to the six month following the birth of the baby. These first six months are in fact a time when both the baby and its parents are most in need of many things and so it is a good idea to choose your gift for the newborn with a lot of care.

There are many items that will make for excellent newborn baby gifts and among them you can include things such as baby pillows, draperies, baby formula, baby comforters and a lot more. Some people prefer giving a practical newborn baby gift such as a feeding bottle while others might prefer giving products that help maintain the baby’s hygienic cleanliness.

Giving toys as a newborn baby gift is another good idea, especially if you are able to choose something that will help in stimulating the senses of the baby. In case the baby has been around for a few months, there are many items that can make excellent newborn baby gifts including baby walkers, shoes, storybooks and more.

There are more than a few items that you can choose that will make for very suitable newborn baby gifts and which can also serve the purpose of helping mothers with newborn baby care. Some people, however, do find it very difficult in choosing the best newborn baby gift since the options facing them are many. It can take them time to check out the various options, and if they do a little bit of research, it would help them in making the right decision without much difficulty.

Naturally Hip Baby Gifts

Being Eco-friendly is a big deal these days not only for the earth but for your family as well. Besides synthetic material is not comfortable and not to mention flammable! Not something I want on my child or anyone I care about. This is why I love The Hills Come Alive.

“Organic baby products are more expensive to produce and get certified. Yet, they are increasing in popularity for a number of reasons and seem to be designed with a special touch of imagination. All organic and natural baby products are good for the health of the environment, as well as our babies. Organic baby gifts are a fantastic way to show how much you care, reducing baby’s contact with any harmful chemicals while at the same time helping to promote a fairer, more ecologically friendly method of farming.”

FTB FYI: Check out The Hills Come Alive when searching for your next organic baby blanket.

Baby’s First High Heels… wha?

No seriously, this company is called Heelarious and they make high heels for babies 6mo. and under. I can’t really say that I agree with this concept, despite their light-hearted approach to making baby shoes sexy (that sounds soo tacky!). All I can think about when I watch the videos is that these children probably have some serious issues with trying to walk on these soft soled heels. Plus, the parents who want to put their children in them probably have such a complex from the stresses of American society to be beautiful that they are beginning to pass it down to their children the moment they can slap a pair of shoes on them.

I vote no way on this baby gift.

Personalize with Photos from Your Own Computer

Gadget: Turning digital photos into gifts

RocketLife.com takes your digital photos and turns them into a gift for any occasion.

The site offers free software, which takes just seconds to download and installs as an Internet Explorer plug-in. From there it takes minutes to create all kinds of photo gifts and keepsakes — coffee mugs, T-shirts, photo books, collage prints, posters and calendars. I’ve used many of these types of sites for photo creations, and this is one of the easiest to use.

Before starting (you don’t need to create an account) users should first have their digital images ready to go and on the computer they are working on. It works much better if they are loaded onto the computer rather than working off an external drive.

Once you get going, the site is incredibly easy to use. In simple steps, users upload their photos, choose the type of gift they want and design it with their photos with the help of templates and selected backgrounds.

If you choose to produce a photo book, the software has an option where with just one single click, it will lay out all the pages of the book.

Newest Trendy Gift Idea

For the first time the other day I heard about the newest baby gift idea called the diaper cake. Then I remembered that popular baby shower game, where you decide what the baby ate by what was in the diaper. I mixed that thought with the word “cake” and barf’ola! I did decide to give it a fair shot and look it up online and they are actually really great gift ideas. Mommies always need diapers and the decorations are to die for on the cuteness scale. I personally prefer the idea of buying the diaper base of the cake and decorating it myself but that for you and time to decide if it is within your means.
