Today I would like to address a few things that I have found help a lot when it comes to making your decision on what and what not to add to a baptism blankie.

1. White or Ivory are great selections for colors.

2. Add the date of the baptism and the place of baptism.3. Make the font elegant but still readable.

4. Silver thread is a great way to make a classic blanket that is not too loud for the ceremony.

5. Gift wrapping is a great way to avoid wrapping the blanket in such short notice.

We get at least a call a day asking for inspiration for personalizing a baptism blanket and the other day I was asked about what color thread would look nice but not be too overwhelming on a blank white blanket. After some consideration we decided that the pale pink and pale blue glow in the dark thread was the best option. Reason being, they are dark enough to read but pale enough not to overwhelm the blanket or be too much of an eye catcher at the Baptismal ceremony. Plus, when you take the blanket home and turn off the lights the sweet baby will be lulled to sleep by the words of God lighting his way to dreamland.

…just a suggestion.
