Questions about a christening?

Question by Sir Hoochalot: Questions about a christening?
I’m not invited to the actual christening but the after party which is going to be at the local cricket club. What is the appropriate attire?
Is it standard to bring a little gift (considering we’re not actually invited to the actual service) and if so for whom? The child or the parents?

If you’re not invited to the actual service, you shouldn’t have to bring a gift.
It would be cute to wear white shorts to the cricket club.

That entirely depends on how well you know them, in my opinion. A small present, perhaps a gift card for a baby store or an outfit, would be a nice and inexpensive gift.
As for what to wear, a medium length dress with heels looks good, or smart blank trousers with a summery top is always good.
