Baptism News: Baby baptised at music festival
A baby born to a couple who met at the Glastonbury Festival five years ago, has been baptised at the event.
Will and Carey Worthy said the Somerset festival was “in the blood” of their one-year-old, Ellison William Osbourne.
Worthy is the name of the farm on which the event is held and Osbourne is a family name of godmother Arabella Churchill, who books the festival acts.
Pilton’s Rector, the Rev David Osborne, who conducted the ceremony, believes it was the first ever on-site baptism.
Mr Worthy said: “[Ellison] was very good through the ceremony.”He seemed to realise that it was all about him and people started clapping at the end which he liked.”
This year’s festival, which concluded on Sunday evening, saw 177,500 people endure rain and mud to watch hundreds of acts.
Mrs Worthy said of her son: “I think he will become a Glastonbury goer.
“He’s quite tall and strong so he’ll be very useful in the future.”
